ETHERNET:
Ethernet is the most common network. It offers support for a variety of
protocols ajd computer platforms. The ethernet 803.2 standard was
developed by IEEE 802 committee. Ethernet is an open network standard
developed by intel; digital and xerox . Ethernet has been successful due
to its varied support and its relatively low cost.

WIRELESS TECHNOLOGIES:
Terrestrial microwave use earth based transmitter and receiver . The
equipment looks similar to satellite dishes.
communication sattelite: The satellite use microwave radio as their
telecommunications medium which are not deflected by thd earth's
atmosphere.
CELLULAR AND PCS SYSTEMS: Use several radio communications technoloogies. WIRELESS LANs: Wireless local area network use a high frequency radio technology similar to digital cellular and a low frequency radio technology . Example of radio wave is IEEE 802.11b. BLUETOOTH: A short range wireless technology. Operate at approx 1 mbps with range from 10 to 100 meters. Bluetooth is an open wireless protocol for data exchange over short distances.
