COMPUTER NETWORK: A computer network is a group of computers that are connected to each other for the purpose of communication. The advance research projects agency(ARPA) funded the design of the "advance research project agency network"(ARPANET) for tge united states department of defense. It was the first operational computer network in the world. Development of the network began in 1969. Computer networks can also be classified according to the hardware and software technology that is used to interconnect the indivisual devices in the network such as optical fiber,ethernet, wireless, LAN, home PNA or power line communication.
