input (computer hardware)

Computer hardware: INPUT: An input device is any peripheral (piece of computer hardware equipment) used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system (such as a computer) keyboard-a device to input text and characters by depressing buttons QWERTY layout. Pointing devices: mouse, optical mouse (uses lasers, LEDs to track the surface under the mouse to determine motion of the mouse), trackball Gaming devices: joystick, gamepad, game controller Image/video devices: image, scanner, webcam, barcode reader, OCR(optical character recognization), the mechanical or electronic translation of images of handwritten, typewritten or printed text into machine -editable text), OMR (optical mark recognition the process of capturing human-marked data from document forms such as surveys and test ), MICR (magnetic ink character recognition, a technologg used in banking to facilitate the processing of cheques.it allows computer  , microphone, s to read information (such as account numbers) off of printed documents. Unlike barcodes, MICR (magnetic resonance imaging is primarily a medical imaging technique used in radiology to visualize the internal structure and function of the body) Audio input devices: microphone - an acoustic sensor that provides input by converting sound into electrical signals.
